Overview of the math workspace for students
The Amplify Math Workspace provides tools for students to explore and make sense of problems on their own, and broadcast their thinking to classmates and teachers. These tools:
- Give students space to explore multiple representations, deepen understanding, and collaborate
- Are always available during lessons, practice, and independent time
- Serve as a persistent record of learning
- Allow students to save, share, and submit their work
- Allow teachers to check progress and determine who needs additional help
- Allow teachers to fuel argumentation by projecting the live tools in front of the class
The Math Workspace tools include:
- A number of widgets to create and manipulate tables, ratio boxes, number lines, and graphs
- A sophisticated calculator that has a variety of built-in functions
- A set of statistics, data, and probability tools
- A set of applets that are purpose-built for specific lessons but can also be used independently
- Manual draw and erase tools for marking up and highlighting student work
- Common functions such as Undo, Redo, Clear, and Submit
